Carbon Supports
Specialty catalysts, functionalized carbons, catalyst supports, and conductive materials for electrochemical research and electrode development.
These materials do not sit in the platinum, iridium, ruthenium, silver, nickel, or copper collections, and they are not interchangeable. If the metal you need has its own collection, start there.
Oxidized carbon is a surface-treated carbon black, used as a catalyst support and as a conductive additive. Oxygen groups on the surface can improve wetting and dispersion in water-based inks. Uses include fuel-cell catalyst supports, catalyst-ink formulation, and supercapacitor electrodes. It is not a metal catalyst, and it is not an anode material for a PEM electrolyzer.
Where listed, palladium is used for formic acid oxidation, alkaline hydrogen oxidation, and oxygen-reduction research. Gold is used for CO₂ reduction to carbon monoxide and for electrochemical sensors. Iron and cobalt are used in non-precious catalyst work, including alkaline oxygen evolution and oxygen-reduction studies. The reaction depends on the composition and the form.
Selected powders can be used in catalyst inks and coated into gas diffusion electrodes, where the material is suited to it. For a composition that is not listed, request a quote.
