Description
Proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer devices and applications need high surface area and high performance oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts in order to operate efficiently or have lower power consumption during their operation. Iridium oxide nanopowder manufactured by Fuel Cells Etc has the following properties:
- High BET surface area: ~110-130 m2/gram,
- Nanopowder form for small particle size: Crystallite sizes in the range of 3-6 nanometers,
- High electrical conductivity,
- Superior OER performance compared to other IrO2 (or IrOx) products in the market,
- Commercially pure IrOx composition
- Long operational lifetime: >20,000 hours under standard PEM electrolysis operating conditions
